Negernboetel Langbett [DB2] submitted by holger_rix
The second Long Barrow of Negernboetel.
It is the biggest of those four barrows.
Some 120 metres long, now there are 35 stones left.
The former chamber is destroyed, three of the uprights remain.
On the way to search for the Dolmen of Gross Roennau, I came upon a sign indicating 'Langbetten' in a forest near Negernboetel. I found this strange because they are not shown on any map I have seen. Negernboetel Langbett [DB1] is some fifty metres long. There are 21 stones left of this Long Barrow, dated 3500 BCE.
Chambered Tomb in Lower Saxony.
Hidden in a bush inside a field near Nahrendorf.
Remains of a burial chamber.... Just two of the uprights seem to be close to original position.
One stone with some 10 cup marks.... Somebody had marked six of them by applying some pennies.
