Eric Sandbo's conversations

I've got no idea why you all say the pic is placed in the US. From what I can see in this page it is well situated in Banff

I was watching the picture and wandering about the two whitened regions of the sky. Then I read your explanation, quite illuminating! This picture is fantastic, crisp sharp (L1), so obviously the filter is helping. On the other hand the doubly-hazy sky is a bit of an annoying artefact. Based on your experience, would you recommend using a polarizing filter when planning a stitched panorama? Thanx in advance!

Ciao, Nick

A nice shot. I like it. Brumm

The little town of Skamokawa, on the Columbia, is very close to where Lewis & Clark first spotted the Pacific.

This little pano was stitched from 6 shots taken April 3, 2013. A free program called hugin did the stitching & blending.

Buts_YV,

  • Thank you for your comments and return visit. We stayed the night on a small ledge waiting for the sun to warm us again. It did.

My brothers and sisters would be amused to be called hermits. It is a family cabin with no electricity, cable or dish. Oh, and the property is actually on the other side of the lake.

Note the stairway up the left leg of the crane. The log truck blocking the view of the crane's right foot stands lower than the first landing of the stairs.

hmmm,... no way around ? An escalator perhaps? Thanks for the link, RandyL2C. i know the feeling - there are a couple-0-peaks i have to get back to. A couple of times i had to do the last 'push' to the peak from base camp by myself :( Sometimes it was too far to risk it alone. i hope to revist some of these peaks with my new adventure partner 'Crazy Finn'

Regards & 1stL , from BC
