Thank you for visiting my "gallery." Although I label my photographs with political boundaries for location identification purposes, I feel we are all on this same Earth together: I hope someday there will be no borders anywhere, and a universal peace. In factual matters I try to be accurate, and if you find an error of any kind, please let me know right away so I can correct it. You may write me at <> if you wish.

r.w., I think it was done in response to your complaints about wires--I guess they began to bury the cables after all. At least you have an unobstructed view of the red brick avenue. Now if we could just do something about the raindrops on my filter . . . .

Sometimes the interior of these faceless monoliths can be surprisingly nice, in a non-traditional way.

"Ah, but I was so much older then--"

These are the Belizean monkeys it pays well to stay above, whether they are young or old, as they become quite skilled at raining objects down on tourists they become annoyed by. Also they are very fast and cagey--I managed to get off three shots, but even this one is barely suitable to share.

Thank you very much, Ho Thi Duc Tu! I am glad you like it! Crepe myrtles run riot in Virginia--almost everyone seems to have one tree in his yard. For years the state of Virginia was planting them along the highways--and Virginians were going out at night, digging them up again, and planting them in their own yards. But as the Governor at the time said, "Who cares? They are making all of Virginia beautiful!"

The whole place looks too good to be true--but I suspect this is what everyone would like to end up with after a massive restoration project.

Thanks, r.w.! I wish you could have been there--it was another phenomenal estate virtually invisible--and unimaginable--from the road.

Beautiful light in this capture! Like and greetings, Petr
