This was taken from our campsite at the far Northeast end of the reservoir. As you can see, the the water level is pretty low. A word of caution. The nearby trail sign is wrong. Coming from Highland Lakes, the signs directs you to Lake Alpine (or heading to Summit Lake)through this area which makes no sense since the trail would not go through an area that is normally under water. At the signpost, turn right uphill towards Pacific Valley. The actual trail junction should be a short distance away.

The peak in the photo is actually not Junipero Serra Peak. JSP is located in the range behind about 3,000 feet higher.
