O ESPECTÁCULO HABITUAL DE LOS GIGANTES.

This is not a walk for anyone with any health problems.

PLEASE do not not attempt this walk unless you have either

a: booked a collection on the beach by boat at the end of your walk (and have a plan to collect your car from Masca later), or

b: Are prepared to walk back up a very hard trail, and have 4 hours of sunlight left (at least). Do not attempt this trail at night.

Looks like an iceberg, doesn't it?

There's actually great (skinny dipping?) swimming just around the corner from those huge cliffs...

Oia on northern Santorini, waiting for the sun to go down.

Thira is the remains of a vast volcano, that by all of the current information destroyed the Minoan civilization on Crete about 5,000 years ago(don't slate me on this on dates, I'm not an expert).

It's cool to watch the Sun to dip into the ocean at sunset here, the locals make a living from it (and why not?) by providing a place to enjoy an early evening glass of wine.

We salute, and remember, all who lost their lives in the fatal eruption of Thira.

This is a fantastic bay. Sheltered from either side, and clear clean water. From the main town (Chora) it is quite a hike but believe me, it's worth it.

Climbing Buda Hill on the cable railway. A sobering thought it is to realise that all that's holding you is a slim cable!

Poros town captured on a windless day in June 2005 from our charter yacht. A town that, though very popular with tourists, retains a lot of charm. Well worth a visit.

At the top end of Andrassy Ut, this is the impressive monument to the men who fought to create todays Hungary. I had to carefully shoot this image to avoid including one of Budapest's many unfortunate homeless people, who was asleep on top of the horse statue in the foreground! Not that I have anything against homeless people, it's the monument I wanted to capture.

The cliffs at Los Gigantes as seen from Harbour Waters (villa).
