Although the photo may be "near" Deschenes, Quebec, the photo was neither taken FROM Deschenes nor is it taken OF Deschenes. There is no place "Deschenes". Deschenes is actually the name of the rapids at the river narrows. The photo is taken from Britannia Beach (located in Ottawa) north-west across the Ottawa River to Gatineau, Quebec. The marker location is, however, exactly correct.
