great photos. I grew up on oahu in the 70's thru '82. I was lucky enough to climb haiku in ~81 as a young kid. The memories of that day are very vivid to this day. Seeing all the development and the new freeway at the base makes me sick. When I climbed it, the valley was virtually all jungle, with just the main marine station there. I had to get passes to go up it. When I climbed it there still was the radar wires stretched to the adjacent ridges and the stairs were the original stairs.
