Dan Collins's conversations

I love this shot. I love the grain. I love the way it captures being at Arbor Low. I love the light and the monochrome image. I love the way it sees the landscape.

Wonderful composition....well done...Congratulations from Portugal...Muito Obrigado...Conquilha..voted

Taken in April 2009

The road on the other side of Taxal ford goes up a steep incline to the Buxton road (A5004) joining at a large lay-by.

The tracks on either side of this ford are badly eroded leaving a 1 foot drop into the water on each side - not vehicle friendly. There is however a well built footbridge just out of shot downstream to the left.

Lovely photo, I really like the shapes... I used to walk my dog along here, it brings back memories of seeing the heron and the kingfisher along this stretch of the canal.

Yes, another picture of Hartland lighthouse to join the throng!

Said to cure rickets, this holed stone is also known by the name 'Rickets Stone'

I found this website on Dartmoor useful: http://www.dartmoorperspectives.co.uk/index.html

I took this photo in 1996 atop Silbury hill. The revelers are members of a protest group who were against the building of the nearby Newbury bypass that cut through the heart of unspoiled countryside including Snelsmore common.
