Indeed I cannot trace this railway on any (old) map. Understand that this (or another??) railway was connected to the main line Zwolle-Leeuwarden.
The track I mean was also called "Tom Poes line" named after Steenwijk's NSB mayor. Can anybody tell me what exactly the routing was ?
best wishes - Dick Latooij
WWII German concrete defence point for close defence.
This was probably used for a mortar.
The crater was caused due the fact that the Germans have blown-up this defence upon their retreat.
Sewer built and used by the Germans in WWII for Fliegerhorst (aerodrome) Havelte.
This Sewer system was so big that a man could standup straight.
The complete system was made of brickstone and built by force labour (mainly Jewish prisoners)
My restored 1944 US Willy's MB jeep in service of the Canadian 8th recce on historical location near the village of Schipborg / Zuidlaren.
Thru this road the first vehicles of the Canadian 8th recce entered the village in April 1945.
