I am doing a reasearch of this part of Arizona and I saw in google earth that ypu took this amazing picture. If it possible to get your email to talk to you more about this place?
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
There's no road all the way to the ridge that I remember. I think I drove back west over Silver Butte Road on the way out. That's a few miles to the south. When you're there get a copy of USFS's Kootenai National Forest map for $10 or so. It's worth it.
Look at Hike #29 in "100 Classic Hikes in Washington" by Manning & Spring. It has better info than any gibberish you'd get from me. It's online on Google Books.
3/18/14: photos are georeferenced incorrectly and not accurately in Google Earth. Seems to be a glitch occuring between Panoramio and Google Earth.
jerboy, I was on that fire also, down near the North Fork John Day on a private crew. I was operating a D6C making firebreaks and opening roads. Firefighting is far from fun but it needs to be done.
Thanks for the comments! Pat
I hate strip mining and mountaintop removal
Very nice photo.
This would be a nice addition to the Cascade Mountain Group!
not in a tiny Fiat rental car. Surprisingly, all the turkey hunter/trout fishermen in the area with big rigs were not driving over either.
perhaps a very quick swim!
Funny (in a bad way) pic. "Respect" for Lincoln Park - Blaine can be so ghetto. Someone recently put up anti-littering signs about 20 yards from where this pic was taken.
