Chichen Itza built by the Mayan people between 600 - 900 ad. The "Castle" is one of the greatest engineering marvels of the Ancient world. I was disappointed when nothing happened on 21 Dec 2012.
Would love to visit this area by boat-plane in the style of James Bond in 'Man with the golden gun' ;D
Interesting to see how well it is preserved and yet the changes that have occurred.
This chapel was built in 1787 to enshrine the Phra (Buddha) Sihing image; said to have miraculously floated from Sri Lanka/Ceylon. There is another Phra Sihing statue also in Chiang Mai and Nakhon Si Thammarat
