Very NICE !! I haven't been up to Alpine Meadows since 1986... New lift buildings, but the MOUNTAIN is sure the same.

I hiked to get down there. It's quite a hike; we started at the Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Park, which was 2 or 3 miles to the north of this picture on the beach, and then hiked along the beach and up over the dunes to get here. To get to this point, I think it probably took about 2 hours, maybe a little more. It's strenuous, but definitely worth it for the beauty and seclusion of it all.
