As a kid walking home from school, the parapet of this bridge became a footpath from time to time.

I want to say that now, as a Canadian Citizen living in Quebec, these photographs in and around Salford, Heaton Park et al, have made my heart sing.

I would love to be able to purchase a CD for my grandson who is eight months old. Please advise.

I lived in Salford from 1933 until 1966.

This is the old Town Hall which is now Salford Magistrates Court until it moves to the site of the present Town Hall which is here.

The name you have given to this site is interesting historically, but several decades out of date. It no longer caters exclusively for 'poor children'; and as Salford LEA's Holiday Camp,it provides rewarding visits for children from many Salford schools, (including my own).

This is a real trip down memory lane! During the 1950's my father rented the field reached by this bridge. I have visited since - in fact earlier this year- but have not lived in Lancashire since 1982. Thanks for the photo. Rik.

Hi and Thanks Pinetree.

I'm not using anything sophisticated, and my Camera is getting a bit on the old side now, Olymups C-740.

I edit all my pics in Adobe PhotoShop CS2, and try not to over do the Hue/Saturation and the other little manipulations.

On this one the conditions were pretty good to bring the colour out with a nice sky in the background, so just a little bit of manipulation enhanced it a bit more.
