Kruger N. P., Pafuri Area; Graves of Hendrik Hartman and William Pye; Hartman found an unusual death from sunstroke. He cut branches off a large thorn-tree to build a sheep-kraal. By throwing the branches to the ground he failed to realize that he trapped himself in the tree to the sun and heat. Pye died of influenza in 1918. He was the most loquacious inhabitant of Crooks Corner, a blackbirder and transport rider for the Makuleke Shop and lived there largely on a diet of Quinine and Whisky.

Hi Karen, we had a very interesting documentation about the WW1 - battleship "Emden" on German TV. This was very impressive history. Immediately I started to find Keeling Islands on Google Earth. On the northernmost Island I found your photo of the Emden Memorial. It must be close to the place where the Emden wreck is sunk. Karen, thank you so much for that photo of German history. I appreciate that very very much. I would be very glad If you let me know how to get to these Islands. I really cant wait to get a message from you!
