Quite an old style of fishing boat in Peterhead. The fishing fleet is in steady decline, with just a fraction of the number of boats that used to work out of the port.

With the sea bird sanctuary of Troup Head behind, looking west towards Macduff and Banff, watching the clouds building as a weather front moves in.

Newburgh estuary is one of the most important Eider Duck sanctuaries in the UK. This photograph was not taken early in the morning, or at sunset, but at lunch time! The colours have not been enhanced, it was just a unique day.

Taken very early one May morning. Also known as Buchanness lighthouse, it was built by Robert Stevenson in 1827.
