Hello everyone! :D -I love nature and the outdoors, and enjoy camping, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and skiing. -My favorite place for recreation is the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, more specifically the Mount Adams area, the Goat Rocks Wilderness, Dark Divide Roadless Area, Silver Star Mountain Scenic Area, and the Indian Heaven Wilderness. I also love hiking around Sunrise, Paradise, Mowich Lake, and the Tatoosh Range at Mount Rainier National Park. I have been to Mount Adams, Olympic Nat'l Park, Mount Rainier Nat'l Park, all of which are in Washington. I have also camped or been to Mount Hood and Olallie Lake in Oregon, Idaho, the Castle Crags, Lake Tahoe, and the Sierras in California; Canada, and Nevada. I want to someday help build (complete) the circumnavigation Highline Trail around Mt Adams. Only 2.2 miles of trail are needed to complete the loop, over the region known as "The Great Gap" from Avalanche Valley to Sunrise Camp on Mount Adams' rugged east side. I am preparing to eventually climb up Mt St Helens (8,366'), Mt Adams (12,280'), and South Sister (10,358') sometime in the future. -I am a Brony. Want to know what a Brony is? Go to <http://whatisabrony.com/> Fav. pony is Fluttershy (hence my username), nuff said. ;) For more info on some of these areas in Washington's Volcano Country: -Official GPNF website is here: <http://www.fs.usda.gov/giffordpinchot/> -Mt Rainier National Park website: <http://www.nps.gov/mora/index.htm> Thank you! :)

FluttershyIsMagic's conversations

Hi there...yes, it is right between the Hump and the Bumper. We've camped there several times, close to a pretty little round tarn. There is a ledge close by with an unobstructed west view, great for watching sunsets.

Nice photo of this Horseshoe Lake in Oregon! (There's another lake by the same name in SW Washington, below Mt Adams, at about 4,200 ft elev.) I've been here once; its nice up there!

Nice refection! Might come to camp here this summer! (That is, either here or Brietenbush Lake just to the southwest of here.) You should check out Takhlakh Lake and its surrounding lakes, below Mt Adams, in SW Washington, it even has another Horseshoe Lake too! :)

Oops, somehow I forgot that these are mapped! (Also Panoramio seemed to not be showing the location map, as well as the links were being unresponsive. I restarted my computer after it crashed on me, and it works fine now. I deleted my previous comment to avoid confusion.) Anyway, nice photo capture of Mt Adams! The composition here is stunning! I've been here quite a few times, since I like exploring little-known areas in the GPNF. I'm thinking about climbing Adams sometime in the future.

This was my first trip across SR20.. Very beautiful place to travel. I am hoping to make it across again over the July 4th Holiday.

Nice picture! I love camping/hiking at Mt Adams. :D

yay! My all-time favorite mountain! I really need to see Mt Adams in winter; it's completely blanketed in snow! :D

Wow, that's amazing! Gonna see it next month.
