I was stationed at Changi Hospital from 1970 (early) to it's hand over in 1971. I was on the surgical ward. I had some good times while I was there in paticular in the bowling alley. I would love to go back but it would not be possible. I have one momento from the hospital. I had a bowling shirt embroidered with the hospital crest. I still have the back of it in a frame.
I LIVED IN THIS STREET AND WENT ST.GEOGES PRIMARY SCHOOL I REMEMBER MY MUM PULLING ME TO SCHOOL ON A SLEDGE FROM YHIS HOUSE AND I LEARNED TO RIDE A BIKE HERE WOW, THIS IS GREAT TO SEE !!!
I used to go to school here from about 1957-1959 but I can't quite work out where our house was from here. We were in a tiny RAF married quarters patch with a little circle of houses. I walked from there. It would be great to find it.
This estate was called 'Southgate'. It was also affectionately(?) known by locals as LegoLand, as it looked like it had been built from blocks of Lego.

Wasn't it called Southgate? Any pictures of the high level walkways or the concrete blocks with round windows?
Thanks for the pictures and dating them. Its part of history (although not a happy one for some residents!)
Regards,
