Not a single Glasgow tram ever went to Hong Kong.

Not a single tramcar truck from Glasgow ever went to Hong Kong.

Not a single Glasgow body ever went to Hong Kong. The vast majority were broken up in the place of their birth namely the Glasgow Corporation's Coplawhill works on Albert Drive on the city's near south side. Those that were not (mostly Coronation cars and Coronation Mk. 2 cars) were sold to local scrappers and carted away on low-loaders to places like Larkhall.

It's possible but not very likely that controllers, motors and air brake equipment might have gone to Hong Kong, More likely similar or identical equipment was ordered new from the manufacturers by Hong Kong.

The trucks under Hong Kong cars were from the late 1940s mainly built locally by the Tokyu (?) Dock Yard. Prior to that, Brill trucks and a small sampling of the latest offerings from Maley and Taunton in the UK were used in the 1930s and late 1940s.

I have moved the position of the marker, the marker was in the wrong place but it is very difficult to get exact position as satellite image is poor and road not marked on any maps, a wonderful piece of road to ride along with its sharp corners and extreme inclines in magnificent surroundings.

Eating and drinking in the wonderful surroundings at the Wiesenthal (has just changed its name)is an experience you will never forget.

View from the Wat nr q bar, looking north Samui airport runway on the right and Koh Phanphanan in the distance. The Wat has just been renovated and is well worth a visit not only for the magnificent views in every direction.

Very interesting! Voted!

The chess set is at the "ONE AND ONLY ROYAL MIRAGE" but there is so much building going on it might have been moved.

This is a new stretch of road which is not on the Google map. The Google satellite map must be over 5 years old now.

Koh Samui may be an exotic holiday destination but originally coconuts were its only industry and there are still many people involved today.

This river flows into the sea here, the bridge has only just been repaired so you can now use it.The distant island is Koh Phangan.

Every week we get a pleasant surprise living here on Koh Samui, like this pleasant rural scene that we recently discovered where this river flows into the sea.
