Es ist sehr schön dort .Wir wahren im Januar 2007 dort

Hi, thanks for comments. Yes we actually did a 5 month tour around route 1 the whole of Australia - haven't put those pics on yet. Hiring a van is the best way to see OZ, no doubt about it. Its very easy to find campsites, most villages have a council run site (cheaper), free camping is harder as officially its a bit vague as to whether its ok in some places. That was a carpark right next to the sea, we came back the next night too. I would say we freecamped about 1 in 8 nights. Much easier in NewZealand where you can freecamp every night as long as your battery/water hold out. Enjoy your trip!

Great picture!!!

Wow. This view has changed since May 2005. I will try and send another shot of the same view point for 2008.

No, stayed in Long villa guesthouse near my other phot titled 'cows in kampot'.

Now rebuilt to a modern complex - this is an old image.

This cultural offering is not neccessarily Buddhist. It reflects the trditional, pre-Buddhist pantheistic culture of the Vietnamese. The offering is to the local environment and household gods and to the (offerers') ancestors. It's found usually under the fig tree and that's maybe why many poeple thought it's Buddhist in origin. Many Vietnamese are superstitious about the fig tree, thinking it's the gathering/haunting place for ghosts and souls of their ancestors.

hi cjewis, just have a look to you tube. i upload the video ! but its in german language. but ithink you will enjoy it also. best regards reini
