My father, James Archibald Patterson Matthew was born here, son of William and Joan. I was born in Edinburgh in 1937, I have visited the town on my travels--a beautiful place[I now live in NZ] I would love to know if there are any relatives of the Matthew family still in the area, my grandmother was a Johnstone{ not too sure of the spelling. Lovely pics, thanks Freda Matthew

Rather than "Old Mill", should be Tower Mill or "Heart of Hawick", as it is now called, with St Mary's church on left.
