The Narrow section if the canal was one of a pair
side by side with a hut in between.
There was a similar pair on the Anglesey Branch on the right under the bridge, the remaining one can be seen on Brownhills Bobs Shot. They were for measuring the boats displacement, and charging for the weight being carried. They were removed in the 1980's
