I grew up in Indiana with an interest in art and the outdoors. After graduating from Purdue University, I received my first 35mm camera from my parents. I spent three years with the Peace Corps in Ethiopia working on a reforestation project. I "inherited" darkroom equipment from a previous Peace Corps Volunteer and took both black and white negatives and color slides. After a brief time with Indiana Fish and Wildlife, I went to work for the Quinault Indian Nation (QIN) on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula. There, I helped lay down the roots for a forestry program, then later produced publications related to natural resources where I was able to use my photo skills. I began the switch to digital in late 2000. I currently managed the QIN Centralized Communications Program. I enjoy photography, hiking, and the natural sciences.
