Kia ora, this is one of the oldest churches in the area which is part of my Whanau of the Brown's that live in the area, the hapu is related to by Te Arawa and Ngai Tai of some of the prominant Maori whanau of the area: Browns, Thompson, Mihaka, Pene and Maxwell. There may be others but its been many years since I've been back home...
