Thank you Antoine.
¡Muchos Gracias Richard!
Tim, To get here you'll likely need a motorcycle, atv, or bicycle, and a hike. We went here while bikepacking. Here is a caltopo link for you to check. The road we came in on looks pink on the map, we came in from the south (the road looks like it goes to the east, but in reality it only heads south. We came in from the main county road, in Section 16 and 17 south of the link I'm providing (we rode xc on mountain bikes)..http://caltopo.com/map.html#ll=35.64784,-107.3939&z=15&b=tIt shows the road we biked in on. We rode in from Cabezon, along the road that goes along the northern base of Chivato Mesa near Cerro Parido. We turned off onto the access road via the Sandoval Ranch tank in Section 9 of the map link above (from the south).
I can send you a quick/dirty gpx file of our route if you like. Its awesome out there. noone at all. and quiet. Dan
What direction is this looking toward? Gorgeous picture, especially with the wing at the bottom!
How DO you get a permit?
Vance, thanks for posting all of these pics of Idaho. This one seems like it is of mount dickey (?). We're thinking about skiing up in this area, and this pic is super inticing.
Of course you've been here as well, Elliot.
I was wondering about biking in this area. So I appreciate you posting this pic. What percentage of this trail/area is rideable? Sweet pic!
@ cbeckelhymer , Sorry about the delay in responding. I have been resisting the idiotic Google+ thing here on Panoramio, but finally today realized BOHICA and submitted.
I have not been out to the Cornudas for many many years. I have no idea how the rancher who owns it is doing. Your best chance is to get on his good side, but he is a very private person and probably will say no. Good luck!
