Hello, Greg and Malodie. I guess we were neighbors about 100 years ago. My grandparents (Nikolai Stanko and his wife Tekla Ksionzyk)lived just a couple of miles south of Halicz - near Trembowla. How about a neighborly get-together, before time runs out????
My Uncle Louis owns the farm section 15, township 18, 1 East, 1 mile North from The Church. Most of our deceased grandparents, aunts, uncles and extended family are burried in this cemetary. It is a regular place to tour when we are in the area, visiting from British Columbia.
St. Nicholas Cemetery near Rembrandt, Manitoba, facing north west. This is the location of the quarter-section owned by my great grandparents from 1905-ca1911. They are buried here.
This "ruin" is likely the homestead once owned by my great grandparents. This photo was taken west of Komarno, Manitoba, (facing north) when the current landowner kindly allowed my family to take a look for any old buildings on his land. Seconds after taking this photo a old Manitoba maple tree fell onto the ruin hiding it from view.
This photo of a water bomber was taken a couple of weeks prior to the Google Earth satellite photo and is one of the three water bombers that is visible on the Google Earth image.
