The old Cyprus Railway maintenance depot at Guzelyurt/Morphou. Trains once carried materials to the nearby Cypriot Mining Corportion by Xeros/Denizli and then on to Famagusta. Trains ceased in Cyprus in the late 50's. The building is now used as a car mechanices.
Yalova S.K. have seen better days. Their near rivals Bostanci Bagcil Spor has overtaken them in recent years. However a grass pitch has been laid for a few years now compared to the hard ground which once dominated the site and Cypriot football. The Trodos mountains are in the distance.
Tudor Playwright, George Gascoigne lived on the school site at Thorpe Hall Primary School. The school field was said to be his garden. In the summer of 2009, Pupils from Class 6OO completed a mural to honour Gascoigne using paints, stencils and varnish.
