Just to add to my previous comment for anyone interested; I found the SDR track on 'old-maps.co.uk' using the 1903 1:2500
NIce pic thank you and it is good to see this so well preserved.
Thank you fot your kind words. Without being silly, I think my best photo is Britannia at Stainforth on the S and C in March 2013. Best wishes B and A.
Hi, Pic. taken in the worst weather possible. Howling gale and sideways rain, which only added to the misery of liquid mud. Ho hum. B & A.
Hello, I'm not sure if you are aware of the controversy about which was William Smith's house. It is probably the one 77 meters to the North East. You might like to see my picture and description. The excellent book, 'The Map That Chnaged The World', Simon Winchester ISBN 0-140-28039-1 explains (pages 106-108). Hope this is of interest. Jim
Thanks Bob. I've been so busy lately I am way behind on keeping up here. I was sitting in my car waiting for my son to get carry-out food and call for pickup two blocks up when I noticed the effect of the wires and tree with the tower behind. This area is among the highest in the D.C. metro area and has long been "tower land" as seen here and then there was CARTWHEEL on the skyline along with some nice old water towers.
Thank you! I am going to put this in my genealogy!
Many thanks, B & A.
