This is how Susan and I spend our summers. We drive onto the beach, turn off the radio, roll-down the windows. The sound of the surf invades, and we know we have some respite from our day-to-day.
I hardly ever catch fish, but that doesn't matter.
This is a 3-exposure HDR image bracketed down and up 2-stops. PhotoMatrix did a great job with the surf. The sand looks harsher then it really is.
Looking north from just south of the Navy Crossing at Cape Henlopen. Surf fishing this day was like a Greek tragedy, everyone sort of knew we were all going to get skunked!
It amazes me how seldom lines get crossed or swimmers get tangled.
This was taken on the first real day of summer 2009, having had clouds and rain most of Spring. Shot with a 300mm FL, shooting south from a point just south of the "Navy Crossing". This area of Cape Henlopen Park is a unique combination of surfers, surf fishers, and just surf hikers.
This is one of the few places that is decent for surfing on the Delaware shore.
