The nearest mines to my knowledge were about 6 miles away in in Poynton and Bredbury areas - this area was mainly manufacturing in years gone by.

My dad loved to be there at weekends over 30 years ago, It was then a lovely pub, went there 10 years ago to be met with the landlord singing a song about man you with every other word "f" over a pa system !!!! Its soooo,,,, sad good pub,,, end of an era ??????
