I was at this college 1971-73, but I recall the road at high level, looking down onto the college. Perhaps that is another elevation or maybe the area has been significantly redeveloped?
Opposite was the entrance to East Croydon station and the GPO sorting office. We used to play darts at the Porter & Sorter pub!
Hello peteyparker! Congratulations! You are a star on the wibbly wobbly web! Good luck with the new job. You never know, you might make it onto the web again!

This is a photo of East Croydon train station. It is the most busiest station south of London and North of Gatwick. It offers services as far north as Bedford and as far south as Portsmouth Harbour. It also has links to the tram services and bus services, with a taxi bay nearby.
This is a photo of the main entrance to the Fairfield Halls. A whole array of different events can be seen here. This is one of Croydon's main entertainment facilities. Concerts, plays and dancing can all be seen here.
This is a photo of the main path through the gardens. The fountain can be seen directly ahead. The main building of the Croydon Clocktower can be seen on the right. Taberner House can just be seen in the top left corner of the view.
