You're right. ANOTHER castle shot of EDC. But you've captured a greast sunset shot of it tom. I took some shots two years ago of it, but the weather was reaslly shitty, hence the shots were very ordinary, unfortunately. so to get a shot in Scotland with the sun "OUT" is quite rare! hee hee. well done. Nice shot! We love the canal and hope to get back there some day. "Medieval Castles of Skye and Lockalsh" also describes it as a feature of the old sea kingdoms, but given the age of the antiquities in the area, it seems like it could date from any time in hte last few thousand years.

Went up that area about five years ago to Portree. Did'nt know then that my paternal ancestos came from Snizort, and, Sleat. Stayed 2 nights in Portree and, went on the bus to Uig. Scenery was mind blowing. Love the West Coast.
Need to plan another visit there as, I am now very much into geneology and, would like to know more about where my ancestors came from. Have a few buried in North Snizort, 1890 to 1910.

Hi Ian:
Cute sheep!
Your photo location was very mismapped - I am very familiar with that area. I sent you a new location, which I am pretty sure is accurate to within 500 meters.

Hey Tomas:
Well, it has been a year and your picture still has a wonky title and is still mapped 15 km out of place. Any hope of you fixing things?

I've been there and that is a burial place of the MacRae clan. I cannot think of it a "OK" to be calling MacRae MacLeod.
Not sure about the benefit of the person in the foreground either. A crop would help.

This fragment of old building, featuring the gorgeous pink stone of West Iona, stands in a field north of the Abbey on Iona, overlooking the sea passage to the vertical cliffs of West Mull. After a gray day, the sun suddenly appeared to light this vista. That is a raven perched on the second from top row of stones.
