Cuicocha - lake in crater of old volcano (more then 3000 yrs. old). Here is a hotel and few restorations. You may drive from Quito to Otavalo then to Chimborazo, and there from Chimborazo about 17km.

Modern Quito - capital of Ecuador - from 4049m (see level)

San Luis one of the biggest market complexes around Quito, includes MegaMaxi supermarket, numbers of shops and cafes with worldwide and local known trademarks. Similar place I found in Cumbaya.

This place is open from 10am till 9pm but most of shops here closes in 8pm (except MegaMaxi), actually really busy in week-ends - people from Quito come here to get fun and buy things - same time auto band Rumañahui (way from Quito to San Rafael, Sangolqui, etc.)has huge traffic.

PapayaNet - place actually for foreign people. Good music, kitchen, and security. They have WiFi access to internet as well as 10-15 computers connected, and internet is very fast. Also you can make international calls here with really lowest prices in Quito. And major fact those guys work since 7-8AM till deep night - "till last client".

Do not ask me why PAPAYA net...

Home sweet home. New conjunto on exit of Sangolqui on via Amaguaña. Fancy and quite. Two and three levels houses still available for rent or buy. People, who are traveling with no cars will not like it actually - to far to drive to bars, shops, etc. For tourists, who like extreme - best way to establish base here, then you can find very interesting places around.

Hilton - my lovely hotel network around the world. In Ecuador no difference. If you are traveling a lot and staying actually in Hilton, you will not see huge difference in service and environment. They have sweets and guest rooms with different range of prices. So, good place to stay here.

Chóclo - agriculture monument, that representing major activities of Sangolqui population. Few years ago this product revers negative economical issues to very stable business. Now people trying to develop tourism infrastructure in this town.

It is good mark to see on the way from Quito that you are near of Sangolqui. If you are driving from Quito then turn right - few hundred meters and you will see Chóclo monument, exact sign that you are in Sangolqui.
