South-east actually. So in the distance that is not the sea or a lake or a river, but a swampy natural reserve, a relic of the sea that used to surrond the town of Koper, which was once an island.

The view from the 14th century tower down on the Tito's square. The tower is the highest point of the old town and the square was said to have been one of the most beautiful squares of the former Venetian region.

It's still named after the communist leader of former Yugoslavia - Tito's square. And actually, i think it's alright. If we're gonna change the names of everything everytime the rullers change, what memory of the history is going to stay with us?

Too sad to see a nice ouse right on the coast being neglected like that. But, on the other hand very understanable - between it an the beach is the main slovenian coastal road, so it't not an attractive location. But the coastal road from Koper to Izola is being replaced by a tunnel, so there might be a future there, a bright future...
