I don't think there would ever be crowds here in this tiny town, but I think it is also used for other community activities
...and I can't pretend I have an inkling what a dragline does....it made a nice sanctuary for little birds now..
It's pretty interesting...lots of history.
Hi Geerten....I saw your pics when I was searching GE for the locations and thought you would like to relive your journey. We didn't do much planning and am sorry we weren't down that road earlier in the day to continue to . Greetings Helen
....and thanks to Snucklepuff and his mapping...I might still be up and down that road on street view otherwise!!
it meanders all the way to the mouth in South Australia....and after so many years of drought now has enough water to flow into the sea. The Darling enters the Murray at Wentworth and from there it is 800+km to the sea....with a total drop of around 30m
Just a little hill, covered in so many same size little saltbushes (I think) - they show up better on the enlarged version. There was lots of rain early in the year and to the locals the normally arid countryside is :"green"
This is also desolated H. Nice shot, LIKE!Greetings Berend
I googled the story of Beltana at Wikipedia H. Sad story, the mining, railroad and road gone. Greetings Berend
