PANORAMIO LIVES!!!!! Well that was 2014 and now in 2016 sadly Panoramio will close. A simple free photo sharing site that created extraordinary international good will, good humour and friendships around the world makes way for what? So many of the beautiful photos over the last 9 or 10 years will be withdrawn, the many encouraging and often hilarious comments that helped form great friendships will be lost forever. Will we just see pics of plates of food and fast food shops?

Inspector H snaps's conversations

They were tiny.....there were tiny little red houses dotted all such remote places.....little holiday houses I living up there in winter....the road is closed.

Haha yes Berend...a bit of a difference.....we went on three zig zag roads that day and it was just amazing how the buses could manoeuvre the corners on the narrow roads...I have been on the train across the Nullabor and Oonadatta track...not a zig or a zag there for sure.

Yes I am reliving it via google maps trying to find the exact spots where I snapped......

It sure did...the next pic is the view

Hi Berend...this is the view from the hotel......just another highlight in a day of highlights.

H - actually I don't think this does look like a shipwreck?? I have just been in NZ and all the beaches are heavily strewn with driftwood and timber. I was told that with melting snows, winds, rains, the trees just hurtle down the swift mountain streams, pile up on the beaches, then get washed out to sea.

Absolutely beautiful! L&F from Heather.

This made me laugh! It's a great caption. (Or a great artist). Were there really elephants there? Heather.

All your photos capture Australia so accurately, all so very typical of the country as a whole. Love them all. L&F, Heather.

Beautiful panorama - a graziers dream. L&F from Heather.
