Alan has lived most of his life in South East Wales close to where the rim of the South Wales Coalfield falls away to the rolling hills of Monmouthshire. He is greatly attached to these landscapes and the world class scenery they offer. His rambles through them give plenty of opportunity to indulge in a little photography. He now lives within the Blaenavon World Heritage Site and, as someone who trained as a geologist, he takes a particular pleasure in its much recovered but still industrially scarred scenery, which records the fascinating interplay between the natural environment and man's changing attitudes towards it. Much of Alan's working life has revolved, in one way or another, around the natural world and our species evolving perspectives of it and our place in it. His consultancy web site can be found at www.aupartnerships.com
Alan has also spent a lifetime exploring "interior landscapes" and his ramblings through these are detailed at www.openfoot.net

Thanks Jane. It would be nice to see some more blue sky before summer comes to an end!
Lovely shot - very atmospheric.
Thanks Jane. Garn Lakes is one of my favourite places for a quick walk.
Thanks O))) They are quite magical.
Merci Alain , il fait appel à moi.
Hi Bobsky - No not just for sheep, but I'd rather not be penned in thanks very much!
Hi Bobsky Those sheep know where they are going! I'm frequently following in their tracks! It's interesting to try and compose a picture with a minimal number of elements now and again.
I am informed that these waterfalls are known locally as The Rocks and that those known as Talgarth Falls are further upstream?
