I really enjoyed the Lehigh Limited Trip back in August it was the best we left Hoboken picked up more passengers at Newark, continued on the Raritan Valley / Lehigh Line. All the way to Bethlehem we had a catered lunch it was great!!!! Took lots of photos then got back on the train after lunch crossed the Delaware again this time switched over to the Washington Secondary had to go slow the track in rough shape but then full speed at Hackettstown, thru Dover & Denville, on the Morris & Essex then dropped off our Newark passengers at Broad Street station, then pulling back into Hoboken. It was the best train ride I've been on, I loved it. I think I might of spotted you when we passed by!!!! I was waving!!!

What are you telling me Dan, that is bad news about the M&E.. The M&E still switches for the Bayway Terminal in Linden besides the other NJ businesses they still serve. I really don't know what to say about the Black River & Western too, seems to be falling apart if it wasn't for the passenger tourist train they would be gone. I just rode on the train from Flemington to Ringoes 2 months ago for a special 10 bucks a person, round trip train ride. On the Flemington to Ringoes line I saw no more freight customers have closed up shop. A few years ago the lumber yard and I think a plastics factory had a couple of freight cars up to the loading dock. Just two months ago those sidings were gone.
Another note the M&Ms factory in Hackettstown is closed their railroading siding had weeds 10 feet tall are growing up. Whats going on is all business in NJ drying up of what little had left?
Yes Dan, I will say I am a big fan of this Rail-Trail spot. It is ashame that the New Haven abandoned the Poughkeepsie bridge back in the day. Having the Rail-Trail this one called Walkway Over the Hudson preserved the bridge from most likely being torn down. For us Railroader is all good though getting a little exercise is a plus but on both sides of the Hudson rail action galore, on our West side of the Hudson the CSX River Sub, on the East shore of the river is end of the line for Metro North, & Amtrak and some freight too. Also boat action on the river itself you'll see freight container ships going up and down besides personal watercraft. Also some wildlife can be spotted from along the Walkway Over The Hudson as well, it is really a great spot..
