Thanks Tom, this was the best snow and sun I've ever had in the Lake District. But you are right about there being more snow here now! Unfortunately I'm back in Berkshire, but I did get some nice shots today of our local area with a lot of snow that I'll upload soon.

I've seen other shots of this lake without the weed, but they may have been at a different time of the year. This one was late August 2006. I couldn't translate lluncaws, can you enlighten me?

Thanks Rhys, I remember scrambling down a steep slope and through some bushes to get here a number of years ago. This one was scanned in from a print, taken with our old film SLR.

I'm guessing that because it's quite shallow that the iron rich red stone that's seen on Eilio and the Bwlch Main screes shows through from up here.
