View from Thicketty Mtn. in Cherokee County, SC. The Blue Ridge you see here is in Greenville & possibly Pickens Co.
Picture taken from near the "summit" of Thicketty Mountain in Cherokee County, SC west of Gaffney & east of Chesnee. Both Glassy Mtn & Hogback Mtn are in Greenville County. The lines you see in the picture are power lines providing the juice needed to power the communication towers on Thicketty Mtn.
It is the same it never changes
The proper name of the Falls is "Shunkawauken Falls" fed by Horse Creek which source is a natural spring above and to the north of the four man made ponds on the grounds of White Oak Mountain Homeowners Association. Formerly known as Horse Creek Falls, the name was changed in 1891 in honor of an Indian chief. Ironicly, We left MB the same day you did as well. This picture was not from our time here this year, but we were there the same time as you. Only there for 2 days with my daughter at the MB convention center for the National Beta Club convention. We stayed at a nice place, but not as nice as our stay at NMB in 2006!
Don't mean to critisize, but I believe you have misnamed these trees in your title. They are actually live oak trees. To the best of my knowledge from growing up on the island there are no mangrooves anywhere around the area. Not until you get into southern Florida do you see mangrooves...Lovely composition and texture in the photo. Good job..Regards

Haha, when I first saw this place, I burst into laughter. I love it, though. This is a nice pic. Well done.
