The father of the Spitfire, R.J Mitchell. His grave located at the southern most end of Southampton International Airport (EGHI). As a mark of respect when ever a Spitfire is in the area it will make a flypast of the airfield where the first ever Spitfire took to the air, the Vickers Supermarine K5054.
