This is Naran Strand at Naran&Portnoo near Ardra and Glenties in Donegal. The Island in the background is Inishkeel. This island became, in the 6th Century A.D. an important religious centre in Donegal.

This is Naran Strand. In the background Naran & Portnoo golf club. When the tide is out it is is often possible to walk out on the spit of sand to Inishkeel Island where you find two 13th century churchs - St Mary & St Connell. There are several old finely decorated slab grave stones. There is a Tramore beach further round the coast near Rosbeg.

Don't call the area "Ballina" - the town is 20 km away. Killala is the nearest town. And the people in Killala are proud to live there... It used to be the bishop's seat until Ballina took it away. And the French troops landed near Killala to fight the English. So you see: Loads of history in the area.

Una gran fotografía. El cisne, ese cielo encapotado, y el dibujo sobre el agua.

Felicidades y saludos desde Bilbao (España)
