These are nesting boxes for wood ducks. They fell in the water when the snags fell in the water.

Believe it or not, these rocks are ancient, ground and shaped by hundreds of thousands of years in prehistoric seas. The darkest rock is flecked with fossilized invertebrates.

When I moved to Toronto in 2005 I lived on the Danforth for several months until I moved to The Beaches. I've been a beachcomber ever since.

At the Beaches Jazz Festival in late July, the music rocks the city blocks of Queens Street East from Woodbine to Main, from morning to night.

These photos were taken on the Ottawa, Ontario side of Ottawa River.

Outside the right edge of this photo is the Britannia Water Filtration Plant.

Mud Lake is a beautiful oasis on the Ottawa River near the Duchesne rapids.
