Duncan Darbishire
Duncan Darbishire was born and has lived most of his life in Cumbria. He is an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and has been exhibited at The London Salon. Most of his work centres around the landscape of The English Lake District and the surrounding area. Though there are sunsets in this book he is a strong advocate of the dawn light, particularly in winter. Most of his photography is in colour though the clean lines and tones of black and white are not ignored.
He is also a poet, has had work published in various anthologies and magazines and reads his poetry at local venues.
He has a garden blog at http://darbishire.blogspot.com/

Lovely shot of one of my favourite seaside villages, Duncan. That blue catamaran never seems to move!

Thanks. As a boy I lived on the other side of the lake and could see Brantwood, John Ruskin's home, from my bedroom window.

You're so blessed to have grown up around all this. It's beautiful and must have been fun to grow up there. I very much like your photography. I especially like that some of your pictures show what real locations Arthur Ransome likely drew on for his books :) Thanks. ...and as for Swallowdale, I think I remember it being said it was so hidden that you couldn't see it until you were right in it. Maybe it's true ;)
