Duncan Darbishire was born and has lived most of his life in Cumbria. He is an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and has been exhibited at The London Salon. Most of his work centres around the landscape of The English Lake District and the surrounding area. Though there are sunsets in this book he is a strong advocate of the dawn light, particularly in winter. Most of his photography is in colour though the clean lines and tones of black and white are not ignored. He is also a poet, has had work published in various anthologies and magazines and reads his poetry at local venues. He has 2 books currently in publication which can be viewed at - www.blurb.co.uk/bookstore/detail/372584 http://www.blurb.co.uk/bookstore/detail/2856652 He has a garden blog at http://darbishire.blogspot.com/ and more images at www.flickr.com/photos/8662878@N02/

Duncan Darbishire's conversations

Wow.... what a tremendous reaction to a shot that I thought was only just salvaged!!! We set off at 5.30 in order to be 'somewhere' by sunrise and Looking Glass Overlook was where we chose. For better or for worse!!!

Overall we were unhappy with the shots we took from this location, but as I say; this was workable.

So many thanks Gyöngyi

I agree with you Sixten - so often we try to get things out of the shot only to find they add so much when we see it later.

I have almost no eye for these shots Jeff - thats why I enjoy shooting with others who do! I am so glad to see you have come out :-)

Thanks Keith - the mist in the valley... now there is another story - sometime!

Its not Scotland Elaine but its the best we can do!!

Many thanks y'all - David

Beautiful cloud formation Duncan and nicely captured Like Regards Richard

Wonderful picture of Holker Hall Duncan and a place we must visit L&F Best Wishes Richard

Fantastic shot! Well done. Kind regards from Athens.

I walked up and down that side of the river looking for "the shot". I didn't walk far enough it seems. Great shot Duncan.

Keith

I'm a fan of your shots, especially of the Lakes, Duncan, so I am chuffed that you like this. I am just learning how to drive one of these new-fangled digital cameras, and my first impressions are that they can be very good.

Cheers, Keith

Amazing picture Duncan with beautiful reflections L&F Best Wishes Richard

This is so nice!

If you were taking shots inside the mall there would be restrictions, but you can photograph anything from a public highway, as in this shot.

Keith
