That was actually painted by "Desert Steve" Ragsdale who built and owned the Ragsdale Cabin near the summit of Santa Rosa Mountain. Desert Steve was a poet...kinda...among other things. Read more about hime here...
Motorized vehicles should be banned on the Shortcut. They stink up the wilderness and are noise whereas real men and women hike or bike in the outdoors.
