I was Stationed her in 2009. This building is Chemical Ali's storage facility. It was targeted by air strikes in 2003. I have pics of this at home

Some PhD Scholars understand this "seasonal lake" or sebkha is the Sumerian Abzu (Akkadian Apsu)situated at/near ancient Eridu in hymns to the Abzu's god Enki (Akkaian Ea). In Sumerian hymns this body of water is called a "sea" that Eridu's ziggurat shrine (Tell Abu Sharein)casts its shade over.
