The Iwo Jima Memorial is a military memorial statue outside the walls of the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington. The memorial is dedicated to all personnel of the United States Marine Corps who have died in the defense of their country since 1775.

We went on a small vacation to Monument Valley to see the sights. We drove the valley road loop which is 17 miles long and that takes you through a big loop of the valley floor. One of the first bits to see is The Three Sisters.

We went on a small vacation to Monument Valley to see the sights. After parking the car and walking to the edge you see the whole valley spread out in front of you.

This was taken after we decided to drive the valley road which takes you to the bits you can't see.

Designed by Richard Cail and opened in 1857, Newton Cap Viaduct carried a railway until 1968. In 1995 it was converted to take the A689 over the River Wear - thought to be the first conversion of its kind in England.

This image is taken from Dial Stob Hill over looking the River Wear and the Eleven Arches Golf Course one early morning.

Newton Cap Bridge or formally known as Bishop Skirlaw's Bridge and dates back to the 1400. Now a quiet crossing after the conversion of the rail viaduct which stands right next to this bridge to road use in 1995.
