I did a Print Screen of the aerial photo on Google Maps and took it with me. After making the turn off the Stud Mill Rd. at Pickerel Pond, the first fork (where you go left) is pretty obvious. This first section of road can be pretty wet, but I did it with 2WD. Then there's another fork where most traffic goes left and you go straight ahead, then through the plantation (you can see the mountain from there), then turn right to head up the mountain to the trailhead.

It looked to me like there was a house there and after it was gone they took the granite slabs used in the foundation and stood them on end, just being artistic. It sure gets your attention driving by! It looked like a water well under the flat rock in the center.
