Hello Marina.

Although I come from England and lived there for 13 years (5 years Cyprus and 33 years in Germany)and visit the family in England twice a year, I have never actually heard it being called the "British Channel", maybe the tag "English Channel" will get you more views :-) have a nice day. Mark

Well, I know that in English this fish is named Carp , but in our language it's "Crap" ...it's funny ... cause you can't say I'm holding a crap(rubbish) :-)

Hello "funware84", you have either misplaced this photo or got the title wrong.

You have placed the photo in Nordrhein Westfalen and not Niedersachsen, Niedersachsen is up the motorway towards the north, starts just before you get to Bad Eisen.

Where is "Drake"? I know of "Brake", one near Bielefeld and one near Lemgo.

Best regards

Mark

Hi Mark, nice to hear from you. I guess you could say one man's village is another man's small town, but I am sure you will agree that the changes have been phenomenal. Can't say I ever got as far as Phapos in the old days and I never saw the 'Royal Oak' but I wish I had. I approached Troodos from the Nicosia side through Kakopetria. They were troubled times in Cyprus during my stay, but I still remember it with joy. I stayed in Phapos for a couple of weeks in the late nineties and visited many of my old haunts, including the airport of Nicosia where I was stationed. Apart from one or two structures, like the Sick Quarters which had been demolished, everything was unchanged. Even the old swimming pool, where I spent many happy hours, is still in use. Keep smiling, and remembering! Regards, Roy.
