DesignDingo, I think you're right in general. The government seems to spend a lot of money on military and the civil war. On the other hand much new skyscrapers were built in downtown Colombo. At my last visit in 1983 the city began to grow modern and therefore I guess the resources presently are missing for preserving and development of existing buildings. Hopefully this crazy war will end soon. Best wishes, Andreas
